Olivia Woodland. Illustrations and Drawings

I started drawing and making art when I was 8 years old despite hating it. I worked hard to learn how to draw, and my hatred eventually turned into passion. I am heavily influenced by comics, manga, surrealist artworks, and woodblock prints from Japan. Some of my favorite artists are Hiroshi Yoshida, Craig Davison, and Simone Legno. My main influences guided me towards my choice of medium, ink. Ink allows me to create the clean, bold lines I desire but also make dynamic effects. As I go through my art journey, I work hard to learn how to make my art more bold, dynamic, and fluid.

My personal experiences from the past are what inspire much of my art and worldview. I have gone through an abusive relationship, isolation from my peers, and years of chronic pain and illness. Those experiences really change how you view the world but also make you feel alien. I want to tell those stories one day. My faith in God is what drives me daily and affects my views on morality and human nature. I want to create art that inspires but also provokes people to think about beliefs and how your worldview affects everything.
